Hey! I've missed you guys! I hate to take an unexpected hiatus from online activities for the past... forever because it seems like everything that could have happened was happening, but things are finally starting to calm down! I want to know everyone's news! What are you guys doing nowadays? Any amazing park stories? Gonna try to catch up on the pod casts online until my iPod is fixed, but what ya gonna do.

Two biggest news items in my life:
I'm getting married to Rick this June!!!
I am now being paid to write about WDW!!!
For the article, I get paid by how much time people spend reading my articles, and how many people subscribe to my article. If you're interested, here is the link:
http://tinyurl.com/WaltDisneyWorld-AnOverview.

O, and if any of you have pictures of Disney that don't have people in them, I will give you credit for the picture in my article. Any good, clear picture whatsoever of any aspect of WDW. In regards to specifics for articles I am already planning, this is what I need:
Lodging
I need pictures of the pool areas, the rooms and bathrooms, and pictures of pretty things around the hotel. I need pictures mainly from the Moderate and Deluxe resorts, but I need pictures of the pool and outsides of the Value resorts. With these pictures, I'd like a date, where it was taken, and who it was taken by please, so I can give proper credit.

Restaurant
I need pictures of food, and restaurants. Tell me the name of the restaurant, the name of the dish, who took the picture, and when.

Misc
Basically any good picture of anything WDW. I don't care if it is a topiary, a ride, a building, a character, or whatever. All I ask is that there are no people featured in it (ie Jimmy Jr with Peter Pan and Wendy, I want just Peter Pan and Wendy). Please tell me when the pictures was taken and by who. Also make sure include where it was taken, unless it is obvious (like it the castle is in the background, or if it is the safari, or something like that, I'll use my own deduction skills lol.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just email the pictures as an attachment to SouthernBelleGen@aol.com

So glad to be back in the Disney groove!

Hi,

Long time no hear.

I won't go into how things have been for me since you were last on the boards because things have been less gtan stellar, however things are looking up and I'm off to WDW in March so that's good.

I'd be happy to sub to your articles!  I'll pop over and take a look in a moment.

I've got a good selection photos you could make use of but I'd need to know the terms involved.  I'm not after anything I just don't want to see my photos sold on because I gave you exclusive rights to it... You understand.  If it's only for use in the articles and I still own the copyright then no problem!  (I know that sounds a bit OTT for amature photos but I'm quite proud of some of those shots...)

It really won't be the rights to the picture, but I don't want to steal pictures from other sites, if that makes sense. I want pictures from people I known and I know will take good quality Disney pictures from the view of a Disney Fanatic. If you look at the articles, basically as the caption, I put "Courtesy of (your name here)". I let people know its not my work, and where the picture is taken. No rights are handed to me. I just want to make sure you get credit for your work Smiley

Cool, I'll take a look and root some photos out for you.

I'm  off to WDW in March so if there's any specific pics you'd like let me know and I'll get them for you. Smiley

OK, where do I start in regard to my life in the past few months?

My last Disney trip was in July to Disneyland for the Friends of the Magic Gathering where I got to hang out with our beloved Evil Queen! It was fun and great to see Jana!

In November, the week before Thanksgiving, I got laid off after 13 years at my job with the roofing company. It was a shock, but I guess it wasn't too surprising since business had been getting slower for years. I really liked working there, so it was especially hard to be let go.

I immediately started searching for work while trying to hold it together. It was the first time I'd been laid off, so I will admit that I had a rough time of it. There is no doubt that this was the worst time of my life.

On the Monday before Christmas, I got an e-mail that said that I did not get a job that I really really wanted, so I was a bit down. However, I had two interviews that day, one being a 2nd interview. I thought both interviews went well. At the 2nd interview, I was told that I was one of 4 still being considered for the position, so that cheered me up a bit. I was hopeful I might get the job, even if it did not sound too exciting. A job is a job. Well, about 2 hours after that interview, I got a call. It was from Franklin Energy Services (a company I had interviewed with the week before) - and they wanted to hire me!! I got a job!! What a roller coaster day! And what a great Christmas present!

I just got back from orientation and training this past week. I had to travel almost 400 miles to their headquarters in Port Washington, Wisconsin, about 40 miles north of Milwaukee. I start work on Monday, though I'll be working from home for the next week or so until the new office is finished. Franklin Energy Services helps utilities help their customers be more energy efficient and use more renewable energy resources. Franklin is expanding by leaps and bounds (a rare thing in this economy) and they've been getting enough business in Minnesota that they decided to open a new office here. I'll be what is called a Project Coordinator, which is really just a fancy name for an administrative assistant. After going through training and orientation, I think Franklin will be a good company to work for. Wish me luck!!

Good Luck, Jon.

Glad that you were able to find a new job. I'm still looking, although not very hard. I've gone back to school at a private college across the bay from where I live for the time being.
